Spring is here and HydroDog Teska is ready to bathe your dogs! Our mobile grooming services are in the Southwick, Westfield, West Springfield, Russell, Montgomery, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, and Agawam areas in Massachusetts. If it’s time for spring grooming at your home we can help.

Over the winter most dogs grow a heavier coat for cold-weather protection. Now that the weather is changing and growing warmer they will begin to shed and possibly become matted and tangled. If you don’t brush it out promptly, an undercoat can become almost felted together in quite a mess.

HydroDog Teska’s mobile grooming unit will travel to your home in Southwick, Westfield, West Springfield, Russell, Montgomery, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, or Agawam and make the task go smoothly. We start with a good brushing to remove shedding hair. Then we’ll move on to bathing. Your dog will love the hydrobath in our climate controlled mobile grooming station. The water is gentle and we really get in there to ensure a complete clean. We massage for tangles or troubles and use a conditioner to counter any leftover winter dryness.

It’s important to take the time during spring grooming to assess the overall health of your dog. We look at ears and eyes to make sure they’re clean and not causing uncomfortable situations. We’ll also look closely at your dog’s nails to ensure they’re properly trimmed.

Shelter dogs and the shelters themselves need our help, as money is always an issue – but the Teska HydroDog in West Springfield, MA is organizing benefit events with Dakin Humane Society and other area shelters – and you can help!

Choosing to adopt a shelter dog is a selfless act. A lot of the dogs that are in your local shelters have been given up; we understand that sometimes owners find it necessary if their home isn’t adequate to raise a dog. We feel that giving up your dog to a shelter should be used as your last resort, but should be the first resort when searching for a dog to adopt.

Launch Event Recap – West Springfield, Massachusetts at Dakin Humane Society

HydroDog West Springfield’s first benefit event for Dakin Humane Society was a great success! Many dogs were washed, as their owners braved the cool late winter weather to support the great cause of raising money for shelter dogs!

All money raised through dog washing donations at the event will be provided to Dakin Humane Society. More events like this one are being planned throughout the year in the West Springfield area, just as they will continue to emerge throughout the United States as new HydroDog franchises open up from coast to coast.

Not only was the first HydroDog America Franchisee Jody Maple doing his part in bathing the dogs, but HydroDog Founder Anthony Amos, his wife Rachel, and their children were on hand to assist with the operation of the event.

Also integral to the event was Area Representative Kristen Clark. Kristen is deeply involved with coordination and promotion of shelter benefit events like this, as well as with other shelter dog benefit promotions and with the launch and management of new HydroDog franchises within Massachusetts.

HydroDog West Springfield’s benefit launch event follows HydroDog Groomer Jody Maple’s winning third place among many experienced groomers in a competition sponsored by the IJA at the Columbus Pet Expo and his graduation from the prestigious Academy grooming school in Lexington Kentucky earlier in March.

Jody and Lesley will be conducting many more public benefit events to support shelter dogs in the area, while also participating in the promotion of other community activities in dog rescue circles. HydroDog is proud to introduce its first franchisee in America: Jody Maple of West Springfield, Massachusetts.

The “Teska” HydroDog Franchise of West Springfield, Massachusetts has deep roots in the animal rescue community. The HydroDog West Springfield Dog Groomer Jody and his wife Lesley have many contacts in the community pertaining to their involvement with Dakin Humane Society, other area shelters and rescues, and related organizations. They are also the owners of a Great Pyrenees / German Shepherd mix named Stella.

Jody’s wife, Lesley, operates Stella’s Bones, a pet services business offering pet sitting and dog walking. Lesley has also been a volunteer at Dakin Humane Society since 2015, working with a range of dogs of different temperaments.

Jody is no stranger to the pet world himself, and as he completes his immersive 5-week training at the prestigious Academy, he is well-equipped to provide professional bathing and grooming services – as well as flea and tick treatments – all while working toward building a greater consciousness of the plight facing shelter dogs not only locally, but around the country.
